The Return of Business Casual: Refined and Comfortable Style
Business casual has made a comeback but with a comfortable and cozy twist. The focus has been on clean lines and neutral colors, making it effortless to mix and match. Here are some of the items that I’ve been turning to time and time again.
1.Basic Longsleeve
In early fall, we often get chilly mornings, hot afternoons, met by a chilly evening once again. Those of us who work in the office, can likely agree just how freezing life in the cubicle can be. This is why I always wear a base layer. This layer typically being a plain long sleeve tee. It’s an easy piece to add a cardigan as it get’s chilly, but comfortable enough on it’s own as it gets warmer. There are lot of ways to slice this basic: cropped, ribbed, loose, bodysuit, etc. Choose whatever makes you the most comfortable and will integrate with the clothes you already have. Check out some of the basics from Abercrombie and Madewell below:
2. Wide Leg Trouser
I really struggled finding a fit for this trend without feeling like I was drowning in. However, I have always thought that even if they looked more dressed up compared to jeans, that trousers were so much more comfortable. And then I finally found the Abercrombie Sloane pant. I look forward to buy these in more colors (green!), but for now, I’m sticking with brown and black to get my capsule wardrobe established.
3. Clog
I think everyone is in need of a comfy and versatile shoe. The Birkenstock Boston clog meets these criteria. The open back makes them easy to slip on and off. They also have a study sole that provides great support, making them ideal for long wlaks or standing for extended periods. Clogs comes in a variety of materilas, including leather, suede, and sytehmics and are available in many different colords and styles ot suit your preference I personally have the Birkenstock Bostons in grey suede.
